              Every year on June 21, 'International Yoga Day' is observed across the world. In 2015, this day was first celebrated all over the world. 'Yoga Day' is celebrated around the world on June 21 to recognize the many benefits of the ancient Indian practice of yoga. Let's find out what is the theme of International Yoga Day 2023 and how this day celebration started . People are told the benefits of yoga. Yoga has been a tradition of Indian culture for many centuries. Rishi Muni has been doing yoga since ancient times. Seeing the importance of yoga on the initiative of India, it has now been adopted at the international level as well.

             In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the United Nations proposed to declare June 21 as 'International Day of Yoga'. He referred to yoga as "invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition". This proposal of Modi was supported by 177 countries. On December 11 that year, the United Nations declared June 21 as 'International Yoga Day'. After this, on June 21, 2015, the first International Day of Yoga was celebrated all over the world.

            In 2015, the first Yoga Day was celebrated on Rajpath in New Delhi, where Narendra Modi himself was present. About 35,985 people, including Prime Minister Modi and dignitaries from 84 countries, participated in the event on the day. A total of 21 yoga asanas were performed for 35 minutes. Two Guinness World Records were held on this day, the first was for the largest yoga class and the second was for the largest number of people attending.

            Yoga Day is celebrated every year with a specific theme. The theme of this year's International Yoga Day is 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'. This theme has been decided considering the importance of yoga.
