Dear Mouli, 
            No letter from you for quite a ling time. How are you my Mouli and your parents ? However, I tell you about a tragic street accident which I witnessed last Friday.

            It was afternoon then. I was on my way back from my maternal Aunt's home at Balurghat. I was waiting at the Balurghat bus stand to catch a Howrah-bound bus. Suddenly I noticed that an aged man was crossing the road to come over to our side. Just at that time a mini-bus was coming at a high speed. When the man saw the bus, it was too late. The bus had already come close to him. The wretched man got terribly puzzled and then ran but as ill luck would have it he fell on the road. Just at that moment the speeding bus ran over the man. Many people rushed to see the condition of the man. I also went there. I found his head almost flattened. He was bleeding profusely. It was a most pathetic sight. The incident shocked and saddened me immensely. It was the first time I saw such a street tragedy with my own eyes. When I saw blood gushing out non-stop from the deceased peron's body I was shuddering and my head was dizzying. Nearly a week has passed since I saw the tragic accident but I cannot forget it. I don't know when this nightmarish memory will totally get erased from my mind. Okay friend, let me stop here today. Bye.

  Poetry remains our old friend. When our ancestors became happy after hunting a beast , they, in excitement, made a campfire and used to enjoy dancing and uttering sounds.  Perhaps, this is the old beginning of poetry.  We are human beings and have two special instincts.
