[] Introduction:

          Kanyashree Project is another successful initiative of the Government of West Bengal and Hon'ble Chief Minister Mrs. Mamata Banerjee which envisages to maintain the trend of improving the life and status of girls through cash assistance to economically backward families, so that any family due to economic disadvantage can arrange marriage of their daughters before the age of eighteen years. Don't try to. One of the objectives of this project is to provide higher education to economically backward poor and disadvantaged girls.


         The Kanyashree project was launched in October 2013 where it was announced that more than 9 lakh girl students would be able to access financial facilities to pursue higher education beyond the 10th standard.

[] Amount Allocated for the Project: 

The amount allocated by the state government for the Kanyashree project in 2013-14 was Tk 287 crore. Currently all students will get this financial benefit instead of daughters from economically backward families; This decision is made.

[] Objective of Kanyashree project / Purpose of Kanyashree: 

1) Preventing child marriage in West Bengal by increasing enrollment of girls in education training.

2) Advancing women's education.

3) To help students continue their studies for a longer period of time.

4) Providing financial assistance in pursuing higher studies.

5) Its main objective is to provide higher education to girls.

  Poetry remains our old friend.
